Palmas Bank
The Palmas Institute of Development and Solidarity Socioeconomy created the Palmas Bank to fight poverty in Conjunto Palmeira, a neighborhood of Fortaleza where 80 percent of residents have a family income of less than US$600.00 a month. The institution’s goals are poverty eradication, economic development, community organization, stimulus for potential local businesses, and the creation of jobs and income through a community economic circuit.
