Palmas Bank
The
Palmas Institute of Development and Solidarity Socioeconomy created the
Palmas Bank to fight poverty in Conjunto Palmeira, a neighborhood of
Fortaleza where 80 percent of residents have a family income of less
than US$600.00 a month. The institution’s goals are poverty
eradication, economic development, community organization, stimulus for
potential local businesses, and the creation of jobs and income through
a community economic circuit.
