The first works are already in progress
The committed action by the Association of the Downtown Tenements
quickly resulted in the donation of an unoccupied site by the Union and in the
raising of funds for the construction of more decent households.
The first works are already in progress. There will be 113 housing units, built under a mutirão (popular task-force) and self-management regime. The enterprise will count with a rainwater collection system, solar energy, waste recycling and commercial booths located at the ground floor, aiming at the generation of work and income for the settlers.
