The Resettlement Project of Favela Cachoeira had the goal of
implementing
an articulated work by the Social Technical Team, the community and
partnering
bodies, allowing favorable psycho-social and economic changes that
improved the
life quality of the families. New habits and attitudes have thus been
encouraged to appreciate the value of citizenship, aiming at the
appropriation, use, maintenance and conservation of their immovable
property.
There has been a visible increase in the self-esteem and a strengthening
of community
leadership, including women and the eldenly. Through their active
participation in
the decision-making procedures, a new reality of social inclusion has
been
favored.
