Alternation
Up to 1990s, this region did not have any program of rural education that could meet the real needs of the workers. The rural population had no access to land ownership, credit, and participation in the political decisions and in the general management. With the creation of the School of the Agricultural Family (EFA) in the municipality of Orizona, these concerns have been minimized. The EFA is a different rural school. It was idealized by a group of agricultural workers and a parish priest. Along with the middle-school contents, it unites theory and practice in the learned agricultural techniques in order to improve the income of the families.
