Program Gender and Diversity at School

CNO Rio+20
Program trains teachers

Program Gender and Diversity at SchoolThe Program originally initiated as a training action in the area of gender and feminism for the teachers of the network of public education, and was further developed into a training course for teachers on the issues of gender, ethnic-racial relations and sexual orientation.

There was a pilot project of distance-learning course (DL) to train teachers of the network of secondary teaching, offered at the five regions of the country, serving six municipalities with one thousand seats. The evasion rate was below 19%, which is considered a low level of evasion for courses of this type.

In 2008, new DL agreements have been signed with 20 universities and over 13 thousand teachers have been trained. In 2009, the adherence of an additional 11 universities resulted in the total of 31 universities offering the course at several states. In this period, an estimated 15 thousand teachers have been served.
