Solidarity in Literacy
Alfasol aims to support efforts to
reduce the high rates of illiteracy in the population aged 15 years and
over and to encourage the public offer of education for youths and
adult. In its nine years of activity, Solidarity in Literacy has
contributed towards the inclusion of over 5 million Brazilians
historically excluded from the school education process and with
prominent social vulnerability, 51.2% of which are women, in a total of
2,066 municipalities, having trained 238 thousand literacy instructors.
Moreover, the success of the results attained is mainly due to the
partnerships with 212 higher education institutions and 166 private
companies.
