Turkmens release Rio+20 statement
ASHGABAT – The Turkmen government has released its policy statement for Earth Summit 2012 (Rio+20), scheduled for June 20-22 in Rio de Janeiro.
The statement in English on the summit website appeared in Russian on the State News Agency of Turkmenistan site March 26. Turkmenistan called environmental issues a “priority area” and noted its own efforts, including forest restoration and an inventory of greenhouse gas emissions and sinks.
