Accomodation
A good share of the hotels in Rio de Janeiro are located on the
famous Copacabana beachfront, as well as along the Ipanema beach; many
of them overlook the sea. Barra da Tijuca is yet another area whose
hotel capacity has grown considerably of late - it is also the closest
neighborhood to the main Rio +20 events. The center city ("Centro")
also offers hundreds of rooms with quality and close proximity to
public transport. Certain hotels in Rio de Janeiro will be reserved for
Heads of State or Government and their delegations during the event. As
such, travellers are advised to book accommodations as soon as
