Ceremony will celebrate 20 years of Rio 92 - Press Release 023/2012
A Ceremony will be held tomorrow, June 15, in room P3-2, at 6pm, to celebrate the Twentieth Anniversary of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (the Earth Summit). In 1992, the international community gathered in Rio de Janeiro to discuss its commitments with sustainable development and to sign historical agreements. The Brazilian Ministers of External Relations, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, and of the Environment, Izabella Teixeira, will also be in attendance, alongside with Rio+20's Secretary-General, Mr. Sha Zukang.
Key figures who took part in that Conference, such as former President Fernando Collor de Mello and the Conference's Secretary-General, Maurice Strong, will also be present.
The ceremony will be broadcasted by TV NBR.
