Warehouse 2 shows the diversity and sustainable use of Brazilian medicinal plants

CNO Rio+20

To enhance the biodiversity of Brazil and its sustainable use, the Ministry of Health presents at Pier Mauá’s Warehouse 2 an exhibition on medicinal plants and herbal medicines.

Visitors have the opportunity to meet the Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicines National Program and the process of growing these plants, the extraction and use of herbal medicine in the SUS (Brazil’s National Health System). Launched in 2008, the Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicines National Program is designed to ensure the population’s safe and effective access to medicinal plants and herbal medicines, expanding the therapeutic options and strengthening the productive complex and sustainable use of biodiversity.

The exhibition runs until Friday, June 22, and the opening hours are from 11 am to 7 pm.
