Tackling poverty via sustainable development UN's top priority: Ban
KUALA LUMPUR: Despair from abject poverty often provides the breeding ground for conflict and to tackle this problem head-on, the United Nations (UN) has made sustainable development as its number one priority, says its secretary-general, Ban Ki-moon.
“When there is absolute despair due to abject poverty or because of sickness, they would provide the breeding ground of mistrust and develop into conflicts.
