Logo and guidelines of use

The official logo of Rio+20

The logo for the Conference was designed by the Graphic Design Unit of the United Nations Department of Public Information in New York. The logo shows the three components of sustainable development – social equity, economic growth and environmental protection – connected in the shape of a globe. The three colours blend into each other, indicating the interconnectedness of the different components. The words "United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development" appear below the logo, together with the informal name of the event, "Rio+20".

A handbook was in order to assist in the use of the logo. Click here to read the handbook (In Portuguese).

Handbook of the Rio+20 Seal

The Secretariat of Social Communications of the Presidency of the Republic has created a specific seal for advertising pieces and promotional materials related to the Rio+20 Conference, developed by bodies and organizations taking part in the System of Communications of the Federal Executive Branch (SICOM).

The promotional seal has the purpose of symbolically highlighting the Rio+20 Conference and strengthening the position of the Government: “To grow, include, protect”. It must be applied in accordance with the context of the piece of information, reserving the spaces for the signatures and for institutional branding. Please check the seal and its user handbook here.

Please see also the user handbook of the Brazilian Government logo (In Portuguese).
